Project Description

Casa Amato was born from the owners' love for the historic center of Molfetta, a seaside town located in the beautiful Puglia region, which overlooks the Adriatic Sea. The project began from the revaluation of spaces that belonged to the preexistent structure and their reinterpretation in a contemporary way. Specifically, it was all about the union of two tower houses in the heart of Molfetta, which were completely renovated. This architectural realization started with an extensive structural adjustment and consolidation that led to the creation of a house on three levels with a more functional organization of the interiors. Everything is characterized by a modern style, adapted to the latest high-efficiency technological systems, powered by energy produced from renewable sources. Casa Amato is particularly characterized by modernity and essentiality, which is highlighted by the installation of Ermetika's Absolute Swing full-height frameless doors. They make it possible to create a home with every comfort, that introduces the contemporary within an ancient context.

The most important focus of a new work is an accurate knowledge of the story behind the project idea. The end result will then be a unique realization that tells the client's story.

Interview

Who is the designer?
Roberto Ruta is an architect of the Ruta Associati studio. He designs and manages construction works for houses, villas, multi-housing buildings, shops, showrooms and industrial plants. He deals with interior design and architectural projects such as Casa Amato, managing everything project with elegant furnishing elements.

What is the focus when you realize a new project?
The most important focus when I start a new work is an accurate knowledge of the story behind the project's idea. The end result will then be a unique realization that tells the client's story.

What does the door represent in a project?
The door is not a furnishing element that divides, but, on the contrary, it unites the whole context by preannouncing the emotions that will arise with each door opening.

Why did you choose to use Ermetika products?
Ermetika's systems, such as the full-height frameless doors, have made it possible to maintain the architectural coherence and the aim to create a contemporary environment within an ancient context. The frameless systems by Ermetika are placed in absolute continuity with the wall surfaces, in fact, it is the absence of jambs and cover frames that allows for absolute geometric elegance.
